I want to say, "Happy Friday!" and send the lighthearted text I usually send. Yet, I believe the times call for a more sober encouragement. The 24-hour news cycle is hard to watch and reminding us what is necessary is changing fast and furiously. This time is calling for you to tap into the inner strength only God can give.
Strength by its nature is powerful, vigorous, and full of life. Strength comes from deep within and grows into a force that is only matched by a like vivacity. It is resilient. It can endure pain, struggle, and pressure.
Strength is not only physical--it is mental, emotional and even spiritual. In fact, physical strength is the weakest kind there is. But, mental, emotional and spiritual strength are the kinds that determine one’s character and integrity and could determine destiny for all who it influences. God's grace is perfect strength when you are weak. God's grace is the strength that can accomplish anything and makes the impossible possible.
And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, New American Standard Bible)
If you think back, you have seen and experienced many obstacles before this one. You have walked through seasons of struggle and tough times, too. You may have even thought to yourself, “Am I going to make through this?” And you did. God's grace delivered as promised. Even now, every day you are doing what is not so great because it must be done. It takes grace to do that.
This is the time to take courage and have full confidence in God.
How? By letting God give you vision and hope looking ahead to the time after this crisis is over. Create a vision board with your family and put it on the refrigerator. What will do you WHEN this is over? Focus on that.
Reconnect with family.
Enjoy the sunshine.
Hope in God.
Greater is the Holy Spirit in you than the adversary in this world.
